First introduced in 1959 the secrect to the AC30's timeless tone is its simplicity and the nature of its all tube design. The AC30 was originally designed with 6 inputs to handle guitar, bass and vocals as a tube driven PA for example. This may be what gives the AC30 great tone as it wasn't designed for great guitar tone but great tone overall.

The Custom Classics use the same circuit as the famous AC30 with Top Boost channel. Vox went to great lengths to preserve the authenticity and tone of the circuit. The components mimic the originals, transformers are clones of the original Albion units; signal capacitors are "vintage" axial type, etc.

While some of the features of the Custom Classic amps have been available on previous versions of the AC30 (spring reverb, master volume, multiple channels, Tone Cut control) none have ever been available on one AC30 model... until now.
